Kubu – Boga Wreck

The Boga Wreck is a decommissioned Coastguard supply ship which was purposefully sunk in the Kubu Bay to increase marine diversity. The area itself can have a mild current but the wreck is easy to penetrate on both floors. Because of its depth, it is required that this wreck dive is for Advanced divers only. At 45 meters in length, the steel structure sits on a sloping black sandy sea bed amongst diverse segments of coral, with the bow at a depth of 18 meters and the stern at a depth of 40 meters. Over the years divers have placed items on to the wreck which makes for a more interesting dive. Buddha statues, treasure chests, and old scuba tanks accompany the Volkswagen car which was originally sunk with the wreck. There is an abundance of fauna which has encrusted the wreck, creating the perfect home for moray eels, barracuda and batfish.
